Hello Classmates,

Hope everyone had a great egg hunt and are well! I am attaching the Mintes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. The Conference was cut short and Class business was hampered by very poor internet performance with the Skype conferencing. IF you are attending the next Meeting Conference, Please, update your Skype to the latest version. Let's see if that cleans the communications up a little bit. There is an Agenda for the nest Meeting - Conference, also, attached. We are getting over 10% of the Class attending the Planning Conferences. GREAT participation! There is a lot of planning going on.We have Classmates working on an "All Alumni" get-together for the 3rd of July. At last published estimate we are hearing 400 people or more. Also, there is planning for the, now-to-be annual '67 Class Homecoming for Homecoming weekend this October. 2009 was a GAS! Looking forward to "Again in Ten". Gotta B an absolute bombshell of a time!!! “67 Again in Ten (Class Homecoming Get-Together) – Skinner/Derego-Brown (co-C); Skiunner reported feedback from the “Skunk”, the “Skunk” will provide the Class with a private excursion on Saturday following Homecoming Friday. The ride would be on two cars minimum, one open and one closed if desired. The ride would be to the picnic area about half way to the coast. A lunch would be provided of choice of beef/chicken, two salads, beans, and a desert. With the ride back to Willits the total time of the excursion would be about 4 hours. Rice wuld be $40.00 including the lunch.; Group, discussion was hampered by internet difficulties; Skinner received non-specific direction to persue.

I hope everyone is pleased with and enjoying the coming of Spring. I am attaching Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference and the Agenda for the next. Next Conference is via computers - Skype. It will be hosted by Denise Lewis. Please hook up with her if you need to link in your Skype.

The Planning Group is moving strongly toward two Get-Togethers for this year. One is planned as an "all WHS Alumni Roundup Picnic" on July 3rd (Saturday). The second is Class of '67 - Focussed on Homecoming weekend - date not yet set by the School but around mid October. The interest in both get-togethers seems to be huge. We have Richard Skinner and Ellen Derego-Brown co-Chairing the Homecoming and Derego-Brown and Olenik co-Chairing the Picnic. Both committees need MORE VOLUNTEERS. Classmates in and around the Mother School are specially needed. PLEASE contact Skinner, Derego-Brown, or Olenik is you can help out. YOU ARE NEEDED!!! On another note, I still luvya all and look forward to seeing uze at D 'nic and 'coming. Best wishes for a great Spring and "Wolverine-On!"

I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy! Attached, please find, the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference and the Agenda for the next. The next Meetng - Conference will be March 9th, 8:00 pm, Denise Lewis will host the Skype conference. There are a number of developing items for discussion and possible decisions. One item just came in as New Business last Meeting - a picnic on the 4th of July to be hosted by our class and open with invitation to all alumni. Derego-Brown/Olenik are Co-Chairing the planning effort. Also, we still have 2010 Homecoming in planning with Skinner and Derego-Brown Co-Chairing the planning on that one.Also,also, we have the Class Scholarshlip Program ramping up for this year. 4th of July Bar-B-Q – Derego-Brown, introduced concept for consideration of a 4th of July Bar-B-Q, not to replace the “Again in Ten” Homecoming Get-Together, to be hosted, for invitation of all Wolverine alumni, by the Class of '67; Group, discussed understanding of a broad interest in such an event, decision to have the event as presented by Derego-Brown, decision to seat Derego-Brown and Olenik as co-chairs for development of the event, discussed various venues with focus on preventing friction with those extant programs at the rodeo grounds and grove, made a tentative decision to prioritize the School as the prefered venue for the event, decision to title the event as a “picnic” so as not to conflict by appearance of competition is “Bar-B-Q's” by others; Tufts, recommendation to menu and serve “Green and Gold” dogs to be garnished with relish and mustard and/or a “Wolverine” burger which “bites back” with green and gold onions; direction to Co-Chairs to return next Meeting – Conference with planning options/recommendations for the event; Co-chairs requested communication to the Class requesting ideas for the event be directed to Derego-Brown; Group, direction to Tufts to communicate to the Class as per request of the Co-Chairs

Hello everyone,

I hope this finds everyone well and a lot less busy than I have been!!! The busier I get, the more I sem to cling to thoughts of The Class. (That B U) I have attached the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. A HiLite is research being done by Reed/Hope regarding a formal storage for our Class funds possibly establishing Non-Profit status. There will be further discussion at Tuesday's (Feb 23, 8:00 PM, Denise Lewis hosting a Skype conference) Meeting - Conference. It would be great to have a broad-based discussion so attend if you can. Also, the attendees last Meeting moved/voted/approved planning for a "67 Again in Ten" Class get-together for Homecoming again this year. Hooooooorah!!!!!! Gotta luvit! Attached, also, is the Agenda for Thuesday's Class Planning Meeting - Conference. You can see what will be discussed and, again, your (you) input and participation would be greatly welcomed.

On the Agenda is a New Business item agendized by Derego-Brown. Hope this finds everyone well and dry. It's been raining extremely heavy down here compared to our norm. There have been debris flows coming off of the the San Gabrial Mountains above LA where the big "Station" fire burned. Regarding Class planning, I am attaching the Minutes for the last Meeting - Conference and the Agenda for the next. The next will be this Tuesday, Feb 9th. Start time will be 8:00 PM. Denise Lewis is scheduled to host the Skype conference. Regarding email - I have been mega busy and have been staying up at my daughter's in Long Beach during the week. I was in Vista only a couple hours this weekend and did not get much email answered. Please accept my apology if you have email to me and are waiting for a reply. I had 131 and I am catching as many as I can whenever I get a minute. I swas down to 75 when I started typing the Agenda. Hope this finds everyone well!!!!!! I have attached the Minutes of the Jan 12th Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. The Conference could not be called to order because the storm took out the Skype Hostess' internet. I did communicate with Plannning Group-types individually via telephone. This Agenda was free of time-sensitive Class business so we opted to move the Agenda in ite entirety to the next regularly scheduled Meeting - Conference. That will begin at 8:00 PM, January 26, 2010 - the 4th Tuesday of the month. That Meeting - Conference will conduct as Agenda 0-2. Agenda 0-2, for the 26th, is also attached to this message. For those yet to hear, Ken Runyan had a stint placed in his carotid artery on Monday, Jnauary 11. I received a text message from Nancy. She indicated Kenny was out of the OR and OK. While Kenny is recuperating, Denise Lewis will Hostess the Skpye Planning Group Conferences. If you are not hooked up with Denise's Skype, please do so. Northwestern in 1911. The W.A.S. Foster home, later the first Brooktrails Lodge, is the first recognizable building on left, half hidden in trees. Next to it is the old cookhouse, abandoned when Mrs. Foster complained of its proximity to her home. Two-story building at far right is the “new” cookhouse where single millworkers ate. Large building still standing, now a cabin at Brooktrails Lodge. Homes in the background were for married workers and their families.

Hello Dear Classmates,

I truly hope everyone is well, warm, and snug for the season! I apologize for not answering emails timely. I have taken a job to help a friend bring his company into OSHA compliance. He is a general contractor operating mostly in the LA/Orange/Riverside area. He is based in Brea which is about 75 miles from here. Given varying traffic, it can take over three hours to make the drive. Therefore, I stay quite a bit of the week with my daughter in Long Beach. By the time I get in (and usually take her to dinner) I go to bed. So, I don't get to the email like a should. I will try to do better. Tonight when I got home I had 129 messages. Happily, most were from you, Classmates - love it!

Attached are the Minutes from the last Class Planning Group Meeting Conference. Please check them out as there have been some changes. The schedule for regular Meetings has been adjusted from the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays to the 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Start time has been adjusted form 8:30 PM to 8:00 PM so the Classmates farther east can get to bed somewhat reasonably. The next Meeting - Conference will be Skype Hosted (Hostessed) by Denise Lewis. Ken Runyan will be going back to the hospital in the City, on January 11th, for a stint in the other carotid artery. While he is out, Denise has volunteered (actually we pressured her) to hostess the Skype. (I kind of feel sorry for Denise, she really likes being a member of the Class but she does all the work. That's why we need more people in the Planning Group. We need new ideas for Class projects and fresh ideas about how to trick Denise into doing them) If you would like to start the new year off by joining in on the Class Planning (pummeling Denise with work), get with her to set up your Skype with hers. By the way, Skinner jumped in a couple Conferences ago.Rich has been providing ideas and recommendations and the Group is much better for his contributions!Reatha has a new email address: mustangwithspots2@verizon.net

Eddie has recovered from his artery exploration and is spending the Holidays with his sons in San Diego County. If anyone has his new cell phone number please send it to me. I've been trying to get in touch with him down here to get together before he goes back to Fortuna.

Now for the mushy part - Another Class of '67 Year has gone by. I hope everyone enjoyed it and enjoyed being a '67 Wolverine Classmate as much as I did. It seems my more-recent Class memories are beginning to overshadow my less-recent Class memories. Homecoming was an absolute gas and I am still smiling and laughing about the Birthdays Party - God Bless Classmate Mitch and his pirate hat! I really enjoyed painting the float signs which lasted not nearly long enough and I really enjoy coming in to a long list of messages from my Classmates from afar. I value you dearly.Your really are the best of Classmates, the best of people, and the best of friends. I remain yours for the new year and beyond and May God Save THE Class. TT

Dear Classmates,

Hope everyone well and enjoying the Season to be Jolly! I'm still jolly thinking about the great time I had over the Homecoming and Birthdays Party weekend. I can, also, report things remain stable in SoCal - Plenty of concrete and traffic under the tree this year for all; even if Santa doesn't show, I'm slayed by it!

Anyway, I have attached the minutes from the December 1st Class Planning Meeting - Conference and the Agenda for this Tuesday's (3rd of the month) Conference. AS you will see by the Minutes, the 12/1 Meeting was very brief with no Class Business being discussed/decided because the Group was pretty much 23152"i" (under the influence of illness). In fact, illness kept many regulars away and some of those attending were physically ill - your call mentally.

Attend this Tuesday's Meeting - Conference if you can. Remember, this is the Class of '67; we need the strength of numbers! Also, I was possibly overcome by Holiday spirit, but I was thinking how nice it would be to have a Class Holiday get-together some year. Any thoughts (about a Holiday get-together)? I wonder if Mich Hood would wrap up his "pirate hat" and put it under the tree for another Classmate? If I ever get to have a Christmas get-together I hope it is with all of you! Hello out there in '67 Wolverine Land,

I thought I would bring you up to speed on some Class business. The Class Planning Group directed me to send thank you notes to three of the people very involved in making our Homecoming evening so much fun. WHS Principal Gordon Oslund, Conselor Bob Colvig, and Roots of Motive Power Team Member Chris Baldo.

I have sent a holiday greeting card to each of the three. Here is what I wrote on the cards.

Principal Oslund, The Class of '67 would like to thank you and the School for hosting a terrific Homecoming evening! Awesome Classmates,

Hope this finds everyone well! I am not quite so sure it is nice to be back from the Homecoming and Class Birthday Party get-together but here I am. However, things are not totally bleak because I just had a great time typing the Agenda for Tuesday's Class Planning Group Meeting.

Actually the typing was hideous but thinking about The Class was terrific. Tuesday,s Meeting will be a Skype conference commencing at 8:30 PM with Runyan hosting. Give him a call (707-354-1864) to get hooked up if you are not now so. Group discussions will include the Class Scholarship Program (we have a nice nest egg to work with this coming year), the Class Bench/Time Capsule Project, and there will be a beginning open forum regarding next year's Class get-together.

There will, also, be an opportunity for "open Comments/Discussion of any nature having value to the Class. GREAT STUFF with GREAT PEOPLE! The Planning Group is growing but there is PLENTY of room for more so jump in if you can - The More, The Merrier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best wishes and " '67-On!, T

World's Greatest Classmates,

Hope all well! I am attaching the Minutes for the regular first Tuesday of the month Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. However, before you go to the Minutes I want to tell you the weekend get-together was SUPERB!

Great time at the ballgame, the "Class Float was the hit of halftime and the entire attending '67 Class walked with the float as it passed the grandstands for review, the '67 cheering section was a very ajor contributor to the Wolverine win (ripped 'em a new one), Class picture taken on the field after the game, had a very enjoyable and informative time.

Saturday, under nice weather, at the County museum and "Roots of Motive Power' exhibits (great train ride in the caboose, too), the Class 60th Birthdays Party was an absolute "kick" - great people, great food, super great door prizes with the grand prize going to husband Marshal of Classmate Tamme Tucker-Thompson. However, as a special note - Mitchell Hood may well have received the best door prize and we all thought he might laugh himself into oblivion, we had guests from various other (lesser) classes: '65, '66, '68, '73 as well as The Class.

The evening generated some $1471 for the Class Scholarship Fund with everyone getting involved in a superlative group gesture of giving including everything Huddle had in his wallet (cleaned the boy right out!), Check the Class BLOG for pictures and details. By the way, Butch Lewis (it is reported) gave Formslag a $20 bill in the form of a bribe to keep Bruce from publishing a picture of Butch picking his nose at the Party. The picture was taken and is the property of Runyan who advises the photo will be available to the Class for review. BLOG???

The Scholarship fund is now $1599.25. There were various donations made throughout the weekend, at breakfast, etc. (Snider-Herrick and Rousseu-Buch have both dropped $67 on the treasury in the name of the Class - Cool!) The Class Treasurer, Runyan, will accept any donation, in any amount, in the name of anybody, from anyone - don't hesitate if you feel so inclined.

We are going to really have a good Scholarship Program for this Spring! There was a good Class Business Meeting over breakfast Sunday morning - attended by many Classmates (and significant others) and some reps from other classes (Not sure if they are experiencing Class envy or have been shunned by their own but it was nice have their enthusiastic comments for consideration).

The next Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference will be the regular 3rd Tuesday, 8:30 PM, November 17, 2009; Runyan will host the Skype conference. Again, hope all well, '67-On!!!!!!!!!!! T

Hello Classmates,

Hope all well! We had to make a change in plan for the Birthdays Party venue. The Boiler could not accommodate our group. We have secured the Brooktrails Community Center in stead. The Party meal will be catered. It will be a combination of tri-tip beef, pork ribs, and chicken / salad / side dish. The price will be $30 at the door with proceeds going to the Scholarship fund.

A Class Birthdays Cake will be provided by our very own Tamme Tucker-Thompson (she promises not to make it three days early and drive it in from Utah and further swears it will be fresh and worthy of the world's greatest Class!) Dinner will meet at 5 PM and will seat at about 6 PM. The cake will be cut at about 8 PM. Should be a great time and we won't have to make the drive back and forth, to and from Redwood Valley.

Special for The Willits News

Willits High School's annual homecoming celebration will kick off October 12.

The theme of this year's spirit week is "Sportscenter."

Each class picked a different athletic activity to base its float and spirit day on.

Freshmen will compete in "Monday Night Football" on Monday, sophomores will seek fame at "The Olympics" on Tuesday, juniors will experience "March Madness" on Wednesday, and seniors will participate in "The X Games" on Thursday.

Friday is Green-and-Gold Day, to pump spirit in to the school for the night's activities.
The community is invited to participate by attending the annual night rally on Thursday, October 15, where the grand marshal and Athlete's Choice winners will be announced, along with the Homecoming court.

The school week's finale is the homecoming football game on October 16, with Willits taking on Kelseyville in a league matchup.

During halftime, each class will parade a float reflecting its theme; winners of the float competition will be announced.

The homecoming court will be on display, cruising around the track in convertibles.

Dear Classmates,

Hello from your long-lost no-internet-connectioned septic tank installing Classmate. Please accept my apology for having dropped off of the radar screen for a couple weeks. I have an absence note written by my septic tank delivery driver and will be most happy to present it in person at the get-together for your review and turn it in to the School office filing with the Principal.

During my absence, I have been at the Oregon place putting in a septic tank. I figured it would take 2-3 days. "Fool" It took two weeks. Have you ever heard of "ground water"? I, previously, had very little experience with it. Also, I am now greatly more familiar with thin-wall pvc pipe. However, I am now back, safely, in the concrete jungle and am ready to return focus to the Event at hand. If and when I ever get caught up I will get the Minutes and Agenda out for Class Planning Meetings of 9/14, 9/21, and 9/28.

However, as we are, as of today, just two weeks out from the Homecoming/Birthday Party get-together, I will attach the final version of the Event Schedule to this message. I would attach my absence note but it is somewhat illegible in copied form due to the impacts of ground water. God bless you and God save the Wolverine.

Hope this finds all well! The attached Class Planning Group Meeting Minutes have information about the Scholarship Program, Class Time Capsule, AND, AND, AND .....a Schedule of Activities for the Homecoming and 60th Birthdays get-together. It looks like Homecoming weekend will be October 16th. That means we are only ten weeks away from enjoying each others' company again. “For the Good of the Class” - Marlett, reported he is reestablishing his e-mail and Skype contacts info and requests test communications from all Classmates; Reed, reported having spoken with a friend of his son. The son's friend reported the loss of contact with classmates after ten years.This report reinforced Reed is most pleased with our reunion after 41 years and is pleased with continuing communications and contact with Classmates, Reed commented Class activities and communication provide an opportunity to stay with friendships; Snider-Herrick challenges all Classmates to contribute (as she did- Tufts) to the Class Scholarship Fund

Hello Tom & Fred,

Vivien & I have returned from our trip. While we were in Norway, we visited Ostein "Chuck" Line and his family. He is doing very well, married with four adult children (3 boys & one girl). This is the first time I have seen him since our high school days and we had a lot of fun. Attached are two recent pictures of Ostein. Tom, I did say hello to Ostein for you. He will not be able to come to Willits in October because of his busy schedule!

Hope this finds all well! We are within about two and one half months from the Homecoming and Birthday's Party Class Get-Together. It will be here before we know it! This Tuesday, August 4, A Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference will focus on backbone planning for the get-together. I have attached three control/consideration documents for that Planning Meeting - Conference. Hope everyone is having a good summer. I am attaching the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. It was the regular 3rd Tuesday Meeting -Conference held on July 21st. There were ten Classmates participating in conference and is was a productive Meeting. This coming Tuesday, August 4th, will be the next Meeting - Conference. It will begin at 8:30 PM. Runyan will host the Skype. One on the Agenda items will be the Homecoming / Class 60th Birthdays party and 31st Anniversary of our 29th Birthdays (you can thank Butch Lewis for that extended title). The discussion will focus on assigning activities to scheduled time blocks for the weekend get-together. I will send you the schedule of time blocks. Please participate if possible by attending the Meeting - Conference or let an attending Classmate know what activities you would like to see planned. WHS Class of 1967 Presents Three Scholarships

Alicia Welling, Crystal Cardona, and Jillian Roberts received scholarship from the Willits High School Class of 1967 during a June 4 awards ceremony held at the high school.

The scholarship program was conceived during the 41st reunion of the Class of '67 hosted by Richard and Debbie Huddle on August 31, 2008, attended by more than 100 alumni, spouses and guests.

The class welcomed faculty members Hugh Walters, Larry Stranske, Ruth Rockefeller, Doug Oliver, Jim Eaglin and the late Tom Schubert.

Efforts to locate all class members began in January 2008. Ninety-three members were located; 10 have yet to be found.

Attendees traveled from Mississippi, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Hawaii, British Columbia and from throughout California.

The class has several projects planned besides the 1st annual "Class of '67 Giving Back Scholarship" program, including placement of a bench in the Willits High School quad that contain a time capsule constructed and installed by class of '67 alumni.

The group also will hold a Class of '67 60th birthday party on Homecoming weekend in October.

Persons wishing to contribute items to the time capsule, or who would like more information concerning class activities and members who are still missing, should notify Bruce Formslag, Ken Runyan, Tom Tufts or Fred Olenik, who are listed on the willitshighclassof67.blogspot.

"We believe this is the first time a class has focused on giving back through scholarship funding," says Class of 1967 alumnus Kathy Sullivan-Strahle. "The funding was gathered at our last class reunion through donations and raffles.

"The class of '67 challenges other WHS alumni to contribute to the continuation of WHS scholarships," she adds.

The Class of 1967 wishes to thank WHS Counselor Bob Colvig, Principal Gordon Oslund, and their staff "for helping us with this successful program,' she says.

Hope this finds everyone well!

I have three items tonight.

1) The Class Scholarship Program worked out very, very well. We provided three scholarships of $567 each. NOW, the question becomes - How do we raise funds to give out scholarships again next school year. Please, put on the thinking caps and let me (or any Classmate involved in the Class planning) know your thoughts regarding Scholarship Fundraising.

2) I have attached the schedule of time blocks for the Homecoming and 60th Birthdays Party weekend. Again Please, put on those T-caps and let me (or you-know-whos) know of anything you would like to see included in the Fall get-together event planning. Anything is fair game, after all - we are the Class of '67.

3) I have attached the Agenda for the next Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. It will be held July 7th, 8:30 PM. Runyan will host the Skype conference. Again, Again Please, attend if you can.

Hope this finds everyone well! I am sending you two attachments.

The first is a breakdown, into time blocks, of the weekend of Homecoming and the 60th Birthdays Party. Please review it and use it to list anything you feel

you and other Classmates would enjoy doing on the H'coming & 'Bday Prty get-together. Please send your list back to me or sit in on a Planning Meeting - Conference and present it. Either way, your ideas will get incorporated into the weekend planning. If you would like to chat about ideas, etc give me a call. My number at the house is 760-941-2024. Evenings are the best chance at catching me.

The second attachment is a copy of the Minutes from the last (June 16, 09) Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. Please look them over and send any comments/wishes regarding them you may have. There again, your thoughts will be incorporated. Or, better yet, sit in on a Meeting - Conference and present your thoughts.

The next Class Planning Group Meeting will be a regular 1st Tuesday Conference. It will begin at 8:30 PM, July 7. It will be held over the computers using Skype. We use the cost free version of Skype down-loaded from the net. Call Runyan if you would like some help setting up - 707-354-1864. Hello everyone,

Just a quick note because it's past my bedtime. There was a Class Planning Meeting - Conference this evening. I will get Minutes out after I get some shut-eye (Hopefully in the next couple days).

A couple notes from the meeting though - Kathy Sullivan-Strahle will be writing an article to be placed with the Willits News. The article will present a history of the Class of '67 Scholarship Program including how we came together at the 41st Reunion and from there followed through to awarding three nice scholarships to three nice people.

Also, Kathy will allude to some of the planning for future events and scholarship fund-raising. Kathy would like to include any item of interesting information the Class may have about getting together, fund-raising, Scholarship awards, etc. Items might be either personal, related to a few Classmates, or of Class-wide scope. Anything involved with the Scholarship Program, past, present, or future.

PLEASE relate your item to Kathy, by this Friday if at all possible so she can make a deadline, at her email. kstrahle@hotmail.com. Also, PLEASE take a look at the time blocks for the Homecoming and 60th Birthdays Party weekend and send me any thoughts you may have regarding things you would like to see included in the planning. Hello Boys and Girls of the WHS Class of 1967, Be it known our veins are filled with the blood of Wolverines! I have attached three docs for your review/comment/feedback. Firstly, you will find the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting -Conference. Nextly, is the Agenda for the next CPGM-C. And (drum Roll, please) lastly, but not leastly, is possibly the most inportant - a Schedule of Time Blocks. The Time Block Schedule is intended as an aide in Planning the '09 Homecoming and 60th Birthdays Party for this October. Please take a look at it and jot down anything you would enjoy having as part of the the get-together. Anything is fair game ( except acting like '66's or '68's) (I mean, come on, there's got to be some limits*) and the more thoughts the better. Please feedback your Time Block ideas and they will be incorporated into the '09 H'c'ing and 60th BDP planning. The Minutes will have backbone info re the Class Scholarship Awards. Hello Classmates, Hope this finds everyone well! I am sending, via an attachment, the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. As with the recent Meetings, there is too much info to cover here. The Scholarship Program is getting feedback from the Class at large. A number of Classmates have sent their assessments. I will make sure the info gets to the interviewers prior to the interviews. In fact, there is a "Special Meeting" of the Planning Group to specifically discuss the Scholarship Application info. That Meeting - Conference will be Tuesday, May 12, 8 PM. Runyan will host the Skype. Please sit in and voice your thoughts. The program committee would like to weigh the opinion of the Class as a whole regarding the selection of award recipients. To facilitate the assembly of the Class' input I will forward the nine applications to you. They will come as forwarded through me from Ken Runyan. Ken picked them up directly from the School. Please, review the applications and rate in priority the top three as you feel should receive a scholarship award. Please, then feedback your ranking, by student name, to me. Most Valued WHS Alumni and the World's greatest Classmates, Ain't if great to be a "67! The word went out trying to find Jani Bromaghin on a fragment of info and Boom, Whiz, Flash, Bang ***** '67! ***** We got action from our Wolverines across the Country. Gary and Leza Smith had info as well as other C'mates closer to the School. Ain't it great! I almost feel sorry (I said "almost") for those "other" classes. Homecoming and the Birthdays Party are a couple weeks closer. Each Class Planning Meeting gets a little wilder about it. I don't know what they will be like in another month or two. The next Meeting - Conference is this Tuesday, May 5th, at 8 PM. The Skype conference will be hosted by our very own Ken Runyan. Yours truly will try to ride herd on the Group. Dear '67 Wolverine Classmates, I hope this finds everyone well and happy! It seems everyone I speak with is super busy. Same report here. The Class Planning Group is no different. The Minutes of the last Meeting - Conference (April 21 - 3rd Tuesday) are attached. As they are somewhat lengthy, I will not provide a complete rundown this time. However, they are posted on the blog where you may review them for details. In a nutshell, the Class Scholarship Program is on track. Our interview panel will sit with the Applicants on the weekend of May 16. Bruce and Ken R. are doing the liaison work directly with the School and our interview panel is coming from both home and afar.

The '09 Homecoming and 60th Birthdays Party get-together is gaining momentum. There has been discussion of a "Meet and Greet" with other Classes, the Star Spangled Banner, a Class Float(don't get nervous until you read the details on the blog), maybe a museum tour, and I can't remember what else all. Then there will be the Birthdays Party Saturday. Looks like more over-eating to be followed by cake and music. Oh, The Planning Group would like everyone's feedback regarding Class Sweatshirts. Thinking it might be chilly at the football game and we need an identifying mark, the Group is considering Class Sweatshirts. The leaning is toward 1st quality hooded sweatshirts in dark green with yellow/gold printing of a Class of '67 logo. If a bulk purchase can be made, a below-market price may be had. Please let Fred O (the Blogmaster) or me (the at times long-winded e-mailmaster) know if you have any likes / dislikes re sweatshirts. As of now, nothing has been finalized regarding logos, etc.

Hello '67 Wolverines, Hope this finds everyone well! I think Spring has arrived here. It was warm today and the bees were working everywhere. That means just one more season (Summer) to get through and the Homecoming and Class 60th Birthdays Party will be here. There is gong to be a Class Planning Meeting this Tuesday, April 21. The discussion will begin at 8 PM. The Conference will be held using the Skype and Ken Runyan will host. This Meeting should begin the nuts & bolts work on the Homecoming and Party. Please excuse my tardy submittal of our agenda for tomorrow's 8 PM meeting. Whine, Whine, Whine - I have been away. Also, it was my assignment to put together a draft activities plan for the weekend. The date is tentatively October 16,17,18, 2009. The date will be confirmed and announced, soon. In speaking with others and doing quiet thinking I have come up with something as a STARTING POINT -something to get us thinking with intent but by no means chiseled in stone.

It seems our time points are:

Friday before the game - gathering place/activity (Classroom/prepare Star Spangled Banner and/or School Song/practice "at game" activities/distribute Class Shirts (if we decide to have them)

Friday at field pregame - Bar-B-Q dogs/cocoa/hot cider, Sing Star Spangled Banner and/or School Song, Present Colors

Friday at half time - B-B-Q as above, March as the Class of '67, Form a "W" and/or "67", Sing School Song/School and Class Flags

Friday post game - "Meet and Greet", Prepare Birthday CardsSat middayish - Luncheon together, Tour "Roots of Motive Power", Tour museum

Hello '67 Wolverine Classmates,

Hope this finds everyone well and happy! Here are the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. The Meeting was held on Tuesday Feb 17 at 8 PM.

Discussion/Action items included the Class of '67 Scholarship Program, Class "Where's Waldo" Mapping, the Homecoming '09 Class get-together, and a Class 60th Birthdays Party (to be combined with the Homecoming event).

There was also a Class blog update report, and a Treasurer's report. "For the Good of the Class" open forum Eddie Marlett reported he will be staying in the Fortuna area but will have a new phone number and mailing address. He will provide his new contact information to the Class when it becomes established.

Bruce Formslag reported Ken Runyan is well and healthy. Please try to sit in on the coming Class Planning Meetings. They are regularly scheduled for the first ahd third Tuesdays of each month. They begin at 8 PM. The Planning Group conferences utilizing the Skype conferencing software on the computers. If you would like some coaching on setting up the Skype on your computer call Ken Runyan (707-354-1864). He'll get you "good-to-go" on the Skype. If you do not have computer access you can telephone a Classmate with the Skype set-up and paticpate. The meeting are usually about 60-75 minutes and are great fun.

If you cannot sit in, please send any and all ideas for a Class get-together at Homecoming this year to Fred Olenik. Fred will catalog the ideas and present them at the next Planning Meeting. Freddie is on the compter or at 801-226-1063. He is usually in after midnight - tell himn Tommy T suggested you call. Regarding the Class blog, Fred wants everyone to remember the Class blog is for the Class and is available to all Classmates for posting any information or item having value to the Class. Just let Fred know and he will put you stuff on the Class blog. He updates weekly.Yes, the Boy is and Overacheiver but take advantage of him and share your info with the Class!!!

I had a nice call from Vernell last week. She is working on finishing up a new house at Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is well, sounds sparkely, and is enthusiastically looking forward to seeing everyone again soon. Dear Classmates,

Hope everyone is doing OK! The Agenda for the next Class Planning Meeting - Conference is posted, below. The Group is continuing work on the Class of '67 Scholarship and the Class Mapping Program. There is a New Business item this meeting to open initial discussion on a get-together event for Homecoming '09. There will, also, be update reports from the Treasurer and the BLOG Manager.

The Group is getting larger but there is still PLENTY of room for Classmates. It would be great to have everyone involved to share thoughts. The meeting will start at 8 PM on Tuesday January 20th. Ken will host a Skype conference. If you would like some coaching (I needed a lot) give Ken a call, 707-354-1864. He has helped a number of Classmates get set up. The download is cost free. Another avenue is to participate via telephone or in person through a Classmate with Skype.

On another note, Fred wants everyone to be aware the Class blog is available for the posting of any item having value to the Class. Just e-mail (or phone) Fred with your info. Lastly, I am looking for suggestions. I have been having trouble with non ''67-types touching and even using my "41st Reunion" cup. One '68 in particular has really been pushing it!!! Please advise thoughts, I can't take much more of it.

Hope this finds everyone well! Posted below are the Minutes of the last Class Planning Group Meeting - Conference. Please note there is a committee working on a Class "Where's Waldo" Program. The Program Goal is to provide the Class with a mapping of the home-place of each Classmate. Two formats are being undertaken. Formslag is Chairing the committee. Leishman is working technically to develop a Google Earth map with everyone's pictures (both from the yearbook and current) placed on the map where the live. Lee needs a current picture of everyone. So, if you did not attend the 41st Reunion, PLEASE, send a current picture of yourself to Lee. e-mail to Lee or any one active on the Planning Group. Runyan is going to privide a Static Map and will liaison with Olenik to get it on the Class blog. Speakng of the Class blog.

Fred would like to remind everyone the Class blog is available to all Classmates for the posting of any item of interest or value to the Class. Just e-mail Fred and he will put your submittal on the blog. Great stuff!!! Also of note, the Planning group has gained some god strength with the participation of Burton-James and Reed. The Group would like everyone to paticipate so jump in if you can. The more the better for the Class. The next meeting will be the Thrid Tuesday of the month on January 20th. Start time is 8 PM. Hi All, Well, after watching the DVD"S and sharing those busy / happy days with Mike. All I can say is: We were so fortunate that Denise made this unforgettable weekend into a special tribute to an outstanding life experience. Who would have ever dreamed our class could have been so blessed to be able to get together, make amends, and renew old friendships. It is too bad all our classmates couldn't have attended and been apart of a true reunion of spirit and kinship. We were / are a very lucky group of '67 grads! Hello everyone, Now, in retrospect, the 41st year of THE Wolverines went by quickly. Although the "down turn" has made budget planning the first step in pursuit of a seated lunch, Eastern radicals have bluffed their way through another twelve months of thermo-nuclear development, and the thought of buying a car with tail fins is as fleeting as a real rock-n-roll band, A GREAT YEAR OUR 41st WAS! The best year I have had in a long time. And so, with 42 looming and the smell of tinsel permeating the air, I have decided what I want for Christmas. And, I only want one thing. I want one promise, from each and every '67 Wolverine, that THE CLASS will get together again! And, because I am selfish, I want it in 42. There has been some preliminary talk regarding Homecoming so let's take a good look at it and discuss the possiblity after the first of the year/as we get closer to late winter - early spring. I must say, Denez what you have created for us in this DVD has come from your heart and soul, and is a work of love and labor.

I was right there with all of you, smiling, laughing, crying, being silly, just enjoying all that was all of you. I do believe that spending this weekend with all of you will be a time I won't soon forget, and hope to enjoy again.

I do hope that those of you that could not be with all of us will order these 3 DVD and share this time with us. This set will be something you can pass down to your children and I know you will enjoy trying to figure out who we all are. I am very sorry that I missed getting to see all of you that couldn't come.

I am looking forward to the "Where's Waldo" event that Lee is preparing for all of us.

No comes my job to duplicate the DVD's, box, and get them into the mail to all of you on the list.

Reunion DVD Update from T

Hi everyone, Just a quick note to let you know I received some positive reverberations regarding the reunion discs. Kenny called to report he had received the disc masters from Denise and had reviewed them. Said they are "superlative". I was not surprised at that report of quality but was surprised Runyan used that long of a word. Ken said he packaged the disc masters with the labels masters and had moved them to Loma. Loma called this morning on her way to work. She reported she had looked at the reunion disc and had cried twice.

So, the discs must be pretty good - Runyan used a big word and Loma cried, twice. Between tears, Loma said the discs should be back from the duplicater and going to the mail in a couple of weeks.

If you would like to add your name to the order list, give Kenny a call at 707-354-1864. The best time to catch him is between 11:30 PM and 04:30 AM. I wouldn't bug Loma while she's emotional! Luvyas, T

They're HOT and they're ready...Reunion DVD's

Are you kidding me? I just did a preview on the newly released “Reunion” DVD.

From the time the reunion DVD starts, the music grabs you and don’t look back because you are in for a nostalgic ride. Lots of humor and lots of smiles.

This thing is so well put together it will keep your interest, you’ll wish you’d turned off your screen saver so you didn’t miss a single frame.
Like a book you just can’t put down, you’ll sacrifice the time it takes to watch the complete event in one sitting.

I once knew the people in this video, but now I really know them and very glad I do – great people from the class of 67’

Some resemblance of old school friends getting together again and very evident of new friendships and a wealth of communication where it may not have been so in past years.

Back to the video; it highlights the Willits Arch and the high school people meeting people. Lots of spouses meeting people they may have heard of prior to this event, but meeting for the first time. Comments from the outsiders, now insiders, was how much fun the class of 67’ was and this video validates that sentiment. I’m usually pretty busy, and don’t get involved with watching things like this, but once I started it, I couldn’t stop watching it. The whole reunion experience I had, came back.

A real heartfelt appreciation to all that could come and those that worked so hard on putting it together. Everyone knows who they are, but a special thanks goes out to the once Trophy wife of Butch Lewis, who is now Denise Lewis, who was inducted into the committee and the class of 67 by all. Denise worked tirelessly to put this video together, and did an outstanding job.

This is not a sales pitch to get you to buy the video, but it is worth grabbing your copy and the funds are going to the “Class of 67’” scholorship fund/ a new concept for WHS Alumni – we’re the only year that has attempted this. More on that later.

Fellow Classmates,

Sorry I have been delinquent in getting news on the blog these past few weeks. No good excuse, just got caught up in the busyness of life after our awesome reunion experience. I will try to catch everyone up on the latest.

Tommy T has reported that Ken's operation on Monday in San Francisco was a success and he is now safely back home in Willits. Ken thanks everyone for their prayers, thoughts and concern in his behalf , before, during, and after his operation. He should be back in the saddle soon, after a few days of rest and relaxation.

Here are a few emails that went out to the class, shortly following Ken's surgery.

10/29/08 "Hey Everyone,Hope Kenny you are doing great. Really enjoyed seeing everyone this summer, but came back Labor Day filled with essays that needed to be read. Been on the run since. 10/29/08 "HI Group..... I just talked to Ken a few minutes ago and he is literally heading home after his medical procedure in San Francisco.He sounded great! 10/27/08 "Hello '67's, This is a quick note to let you know Ken Runyan as successfully exited the operating room after having his carotid arteries cleared of blockage. The operation was of abnormal concern because of old cancer treatment damage to the arteries. However, Nancy phoned from the hospital and reported Ken is alert, drinking clear liquids, and looking at advetisements for cameras. If he is looking at cameras it doesn't prove much. He will do that when he is dead. But, the report of alert and drinking gives me a level of confidence he'll be back on the shutter release before too long. 10/29/08 - Hello fellow '67's, This is an update regarding the discs of pictures from the reunion. They are still in the works and coming along. Denis had to fall back and reformat because she discovered her first formatting was only good for display on a computer. So, her new formatting will be good to show on hardware types. Loma and Kenny are ready to send them out as soon as they are ready. The way I understand, it should be early November. If anyone missed ordering earlier, you may still do so. Just send $10.00 per disc to Kenny and tell him which ones you want. There is the reunion itself, the pictures from the "Good Old Days", and the Memorial. The picture of the Class on the Steps of the School is, also, available. You may order either an 8 X 10 or a 13 X 19. Picture pricing is $10 for the smaller and $20 for the larger. Next is an update on the Class of 67 Scholarship Fund Project:

10/29/08 "Hello again everyone, This is an update about the Class Scholarship Program. The Class Planning Group has been meeting twice monthly on the first and third Tuesdays. We have begun discussion regarding the Class Scholarship Program. Group came to consensus on the Program's first milestone. The Group would like to form a "Scholarship Board" to provide steering, oversight, and decision-making and would like to form a "Scholarship Research Group" to provide technical and interpretive support. The Group envisions the Board as having approximately five seats and the Reasearch Group as seating as many Classmates as have available time. The Group agrees all seats must be filled by Class of '67 Classmates such that control of the Scholarship Program will be retained by the Class. The Scholarship Program Board and Group will function as a subcommittee of the Class and Planning Group with all meetings/ actions/etc open to any Classmate and with reporting to the Class throught the Planning Group. PLEASE consider volnteering for either the Board or Group. The best result will be generated with the greatest possible level of participation.

If you feel you have time availalble to participate as a seated Classmate, PLEASE contact anyone of the Planning Group Classmates or come in on the next Planning Group Meeting - Conference on November 11. (1st Tuesday meeting moved from 11/4 to the next Tuesday to avoid a conflict with the National elections) Anyone of the Planning Group will be happy to assist you in getting hooked up for the conferences. Those Classmates currently active in the Planning Group are: Lome-Buletti-Wharton, Ellen Derego-Brown, Sonja Herrick, Marilyn Mickle-Lindstrom, Bruce Formslag, Lee Leishman, Eddie Marlett, Fred Olenik, Ken "the Artery" Runyan, Tom Tufts. By the way, The Planning Group would dearly love to have more classmates involved and helping. Lee just entered the Group last meeting and is engineering a project with Bruce and Ken to provide a "Classmates Map"for social use by the Class. The meetings begin at 8 PM PSTon those Tuesdays and last about an hour - hour and onehalf and are great fun! Currentlly we have the reunion discs project finishing up and then will start on the '09 Homecoming get-together plans among other things. Jump in if you can, the group would very warmly, affectionately, and appreciatively welcome your help and addition to the fun!

Anyway, in the interest of moving the Scholarship Program forward, the Planning Group would like to seat the Board and Research Group at the November 11 meeting - Conference. PLEASE, prior to the Nov. 11 meeting - conference, advise anyone of the P. Group Classmates of your availabilty to fill a seat. And, if possible, plan to attend the November 11, 8 PM meeting - conference. Information is available on the Class Blog. Fred is much better than I would be at providing updates and it is probably a lot more efficient than reading all this from me. Hope this finds everyone well and far, far from the Pricipal's office! "Where's Willie and Waldo" Project

We will have an update on this project, soon. It is being headed up by Bruce, with Lee, Loma, Tom, Ken and myself, helping to get it launched. It will be tons of fun to locate all of the classmates from an arial view on Google Earth. Watch for updates...!!!

When Day is Done....

The Class of 67, 41st Reunion, was an overwhelming success! The unofficial count was 99 in attendance, counting classmates (50), spouses and significant others (30), teachers (11), and visitors (8).

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and returned home, safely, to find all well. Beginning with the "Meet and Greet" on Saturday at the Broiler and continuing to late Sunday night, it was an event of all events. Eddie described it best in his letter to the class, tonight, "For those of you who didn’t make it, you were their in our hearts, our minds, and in many of our conversations. But let me tell you, you will not want to miss the next one, guaranteed you will have a great time, and you will not want to miss another one, again."

So many did so much to make this happen. Thank you for all of your efforts! Mostly, thanks for attending! Our next get together is slated for Homecoming 2009, when those who can, will assemble and march in the Homecoming Parade in Willits, behind the "Class of 67" banner. I believe at the clean-up on Monday morning, I over heard Hud volunteering to lead us, dressed as "Atilla the Hun".

Denise is working hard to put together the DVD's for the reunion from the multitude of photos taken by Ken, Bruce and others. The arial shots of the reunion, taken by Bruce, from Jon's helo, were exceptional. So, if you didn't order your copies at the reunion, please let us know what you would like. There will be three separate DVD's...first will be a memorial DVD for our deceased classmates, second is a presentation of photos and music from high school, and third will be a compilation of photos and music from all sessions of the reunion. Each are $10. Order details will be posted, shortly. If at all possible, you will want to order all three. These will hold cherished memories of classmates and lifelong friends for many years to come.

We are completing the classmate contact list. If you need any contact information for any classmates, please let me know. We felt it appropriate to share contact information by request, rather that posting it or sending it out to everyone by email.

The format for the class blog is undergoing some changes. This may not be the template and format, going forward, but it will have a new look as we enter our 42nd year...just as we are forever changed (for the good) from this awesome experience.

We are hours away from the 41st!!!

Dear Classmates,

Hope this finds everyone well! It seems like just 41 years ago we were all at the School. Now I think it's something like 41 hours and we'll be there again. Doesn't sound like we've made much progress. 41 years and we're going right back where we started. Could be a lot worse though. At least we have a great place and great memories to which to return. (Is that right or correct?)(Where's Rockefeller when you need her) I am looking greatly forward to seeing everyone. I will try my dangedest to make the Rendezvous Saturday night at the Broiler. I have a pretty fair set of "May Pop" tires on Old Paint so am hoping the drive goes uneventfully. If I don't get there, please, punch Olenik and Runyan in the arm for me and I will see you all Sunday. Best regards! T

APPROACHING LAUNCH TIME.....

Hello everyone,

There is just over a week to go. More and More Classmates are coming on board. I think this is going to be more than just a great time but a special occasion. If you have not secured your ticket, I recommend you do so. The ticket price is rolled back to the original $35 amount. However, "at the door", the price is $45 and comes with no guarantee of a meal. It looks like a ton of Classmates are scheduling to meet Saturday night at the Broiler. I am going to be driving but will try my darnedest to make it. Please remember to bring items of nostalgia and Class/School trivia. We are going to put the nostalgia up for display/review and are going to have some fun with the trivia. If you cannot attend, PLEASE, send a current picture of yourself and a few words about what you are doing. We will put them up. Also, it would be nice to have current address and phone info so we can put it together for the Class.You can e-mail or snail mail to Ken Runyan. *** There has been so much enthusiasm for the Saturday night Broiler Meet & Greet that it's run up over 60 people and counting.
Nancy contacted the Broiler tonight to warn them, and here's what they have to say about that.
Fine...........Bring em' on - but:
They consider any parties of 30 or more a banquet, and they have to bring in additional help to provide the service required, and we will have our own room, isolated from the rest of their dining patrons.
The cost per person is $25.
This includes;' Dinner (choice of NY Steak, Chicken or Prawns), Water, Coffee Desert and TIP. (=bargain, Cheaper than individual meals there) Additional drinks for dinner will be paid for as you go.
They still open at 5:00pm, and we can still do the meet & greet in their bar area, where it will be a NO HOST bar for drinks.
Please talk to others that are coming to make sure they know what's happening. Contact anyone that you know doesn't have email, or that will not get this message. K

Reunion Update...Get Ready...Get Set...

Classmates,

The price of tickets ordered after July 31st has been rolled back from $45 to $35. However, the caterer needs meal count with some lead time prior to the reunion. Therefore, "walk-in" attendees will be at $45 and no meal guarantee can be provided. Get your ticket check to Runyan at 24149 Birch Terrace, Willits, CA 95490 (the "Terrace" is important because there are number of Birch's). Ellen and Ken are putting together nostalgia and trivia items and display for the reunion. Please send or bring any and all nostalgia and trivia items to them or to the reunion. Should be great! Good sources have it the Kathy Sullivan is going to attend - coming all the way from Hawaii. Yep, should be great!

There will be a "No Host" early-bird dinner get-together Saturday August 30 at the Broiler in Redwood Valley. A "No Host" cocktail hour will begin at 6:30 PM (optional 5 PM start time for those who would like to visit a little longer before dinner) with the "No Host" dinner to seat at 7 O'Clock. Please RSVP to Ken Runyan prior to a week before the event so he may communicate seating needs with the Broiler. Ken's number is 707-354-1864 or e-mail. His e-mail address is above.

The reunion activities will include brief comments by David Page and a moment of silence for our deceased Classmates. David will be attending from Southern Oregon.

Bonnie Mitchell has written a very nice press release regarding the reunion. It was published in the Willits News with our Class graduation picture. Bonnie will be attending from Arcata and may have news for us.

If you have any homework you still need to attend, you may be in luck. We will have some of the teachers attending. Might not hurt to bring some running shoes in case we have to run laps.

Also, remember, we will meet at the School at 1:30 in the afternoon for a Class picture in front of the School. We will, then, go on a walking tour of the Halls - led by one of our Teachers. Should be extra great. We will then caravan to Huddle's house for the remainder of the day/evening. Should be super duper great!!!! Class of 1967 plans Aug. 31 reunion

In an unprecedented effort to contact every member of the Willits High School graduating class of 1967, organizers of the class's 41st reunion hope to reunite with most of their former classmates and teachers on Sunday, August 31.

The reunion will begin with a gathering on the entrance steps of WHS and continue later at the home of classmate Richard Huddle. There alumni hope to visit, to reminisce, and recognize classmates some haven't seen in 41 years.

Former class salutatorian Vernell Soulliere-Falgout will be traveling all the way from Petal, Mississippi; several other alumni are planning to attend from the Seattle, Washington, area.

In an odd-year reunion effort, according to spearheading organizers Fred Olenik of Utah and Tom Tufts of Southern California, the genesis of the single-class reunion began in January 2008.

Having met at former multi-class reunions, WHS grads Doug Forrester, Bruce Formslag, Dennis McClelland, Jon McKee and Ken Runyan began the area effort, while Olenik set up a blog address (willitshighclassof67.blogspot.com/) with Tufts sending emails and calling numerous classmates.

As a result, nearly 80 percent of the class has been contacted and currently 53 graduates of the 109 are planning to attend the weekend event.

The 1967 graduates will begin their day with a meet-and-greet at the high school at 1:30 p.m., followed by a group photo at 2 p.m. and a tour of their old high school led by a former teacher. The group will then caravan to Richard Huddle's house south of town.

According to reunion treasurer Ken Runyan, classmates still have time to send in their $35 per person checks to him at 24149 Birch Terrace, Willits, CA 95490. After July 31, the cost will increase to $45 per person.

Reunion activities will include a moment of silence and remembrance for deceased classmates, a recognition of former teachers, a photo gallery, a trivia board and, of course, food and music.

Former teachers planning to attend include Ruth Rockefeller, Tom Schubert, Larry Stranske, Nancy and Douglas Oliver, and Hugh Walters. Marilyn Mickle and Felix Soto have been working on contacting teachers and say it's possible others may attend.

Organizers are eager to contact everyone in their class and are still trying to reach 16 fellow classmates. As organizer Fred Olenik said, "This class is the first to reach out to each and every classmate. All the barriers are down for this reunion. We're getting older and we really want to see everyone."

Hi there, Doesn’t look like we will be able to make this one, but thanks for the invitation. Clark continued to teach and coach high school football at Shasta High School in Redding until his retirement with many, many championships under his belt. He retired from teaching and did land development and building homes for another ten years. Now he is a world class fly fisherman traveling the world! I continued to teach Home Economics and worked with the teen parents programs until retirement. I am now enjoying all the delights that I use to teach about. In the local news..."Woman Shoots Herself While Trying to Kill Mice"

POTTER VALLEY, Calif. — A Mendocino County woman who was trying to kill mice in her trailer with a gun ended up shooting herself and another person.

The 43-year-old woman pulled out her .44-caliber Magnum revolver after she saw the mice scurrying across the floor of her trailer on Highway 20 in Potter Valley, sheriff's officials said.

But she accidentally dropped the gun, which went off as it struck the floor. The bullet went through the woman's kneecap, bounced off the keys sitting on the belt loop of a 42-year-old man in the trailer and grazed the man's groin before ending up in his coin pocket.

Authorities did not release the shooting victims' names.
The mice escaped the shooting unharmed.

...So come to the "Wild, Wild, West WHS Class of 67 Reunion" where vicious critters still roam the land and brave men and women fight them off with their weapons...and remember...If your woman packs the heat, you better wear plenty of keys on your belt loop...F

THE GOOSE STORY

Next Fall, when you see geese heading south for the winter, flying along in a V formation, you might consider that science has discovered why they fly that way.

As each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flapping in V formation, the whole flock creates at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.

People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going faster and easier because they are traveling on the trust of one another.

When a goose falls out of formation it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power from the bird in front. If we had as much sense as a goose we would stay in formation with those who are headed in the same direction that we are.

When the head goose gets tired, it rotates back and another goose flies point. It is sensible to take turns doing demanding jobs whether it's with people or geese flying south.

Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. What do we say when we honk from behind?

Finally, and this is important, when a goose gets sick, or is wounded by gunshots, and falls out of formation, two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly or it dies; and only then do they launch out on their own, or with another formation to catch up with their group.

We will soon meet at Huds for our 41st class reunion to renew friendships, share life experiences, and just act like a bunch of silly geese. And if we have the sense of a goose, we will always stand by each other, our families, and friends.

We will pass through these hallowed doors, once again....

We have been watching for an elegant photo of the main entrance to the High School. Sonja sent us the link to this site and photo owned by Elaine Hamby of Willits. We asked Elaine for permission to share it on our site and she graciously agreed. Please check out her site http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/ for some great photography and articles about Willits scenes and subjects. Here is her caption for the photo, above.

"About the only bit of architecture that comes close to the grand decoration of Pasadena-style Palladian, is the front portal to Willits High School. Someday, I'll have to check out the interior. My high school, elsewhere, was built in 1960 or so, and looks more like a Bauhaus concentration camp. I hope these kids appreciate what they have."

In a few weeks, we will pass through these hallowed doors and relive some of our past memories of Willits High. We hope this will encourage us all to attend our 41st Class Reunion, August 31, at the House of Hud.

IMPORTANT REUNION UPDATE....

Hello '67 Classmates,

It is a milestone day in the reunion universe (so let's move boldly forward). Finally, I have an e-mail message with the core information we need to get together. The Willits (Hommies) Planning Group (WPG) has been able to assemble a costs package to include rentals, catering, etc and provide a ticket price. We, also, have a Secretary/Treasurer/Controller/CFO to receive ticket monies and provide accounting. Many, many classmates are on board. We have a roster of teachers planning to attend. And, we have a Class picture and school tour organized. So, (without further............you know) here's the dope:

Ticket price: $35 per person. By the Huddles' gracious offer of their home, we have avoided the cost of a hall or other "at price" venue. To receive ticket money (for catering and etc) without bylaws and a constitution, we could not open a bank account in the name of the Class or Reunion. Ken Runyan has stepped up (needs to make a big house payment) and has volunteered to receive the ticket checks and to account for them and our spending. Therefore, send ticket checks to: Ken Runyan, 24149 Birch Terrace*, Willits, CA 95490. *It is important to use "Terrace" as there are a number of other Birch addresses in Willits such as Street, Circle, Place, etc. The checks should be made in favor of Ken Runyan but Ken requests we make a note " '67 reunion" on the checks. The WPG needs to know how many attendees they will be providing for with enough lead time to coordinate the number with caterers, rental suppliers, etc. Therefore, the checks need to be to Ken by July 31st.

The July 31st deadline date gives us a full month and one half to remit. After July 31st, the reunion will continue to accept late ticket payments but the price will be adjusted to $45 per person to compensate for out-of-package cost amounts.

So, checks to Ken Runyan, by July 31st, at the above "Terrace" address, in the amount of $35 per attendee ($45 per, after the 7/31). Note "67 reunion" on the check (Ken will provide accounting for any nervous Classmate to review). Get your check to Ken by July 31st or pay a $10 cost premium per attendee on checks arriving after July 31st.

Now, for the fun stuff.`It appears there are a ton of Classmates coming.
Marilyn and Felix have taken the lead on contacting Teachers. With support of other Classmates, they have found/contacted many of those Teachers still with us, and, somehow, convinced them to attend. So, bring your latent Algebra questions and your yet-uncompleted sentence diagrams and make this more than just a reunion - seize the opportunity to complete your education!!!!!! (Heads up - it might not hurt to throw in your gym shoes, too).

Also, (bugles and drum roll, here) Our Hommies (WPG) have set up a Class picture opportunity and Willits High School tour. Arrive in front of THE school at 1:30 to meet and greet. At 2:00 we will assemble on the front steps (am I correct in remembering the school having front steps?) for Class pictures.

Directly following the picture we will tour the school. A "very Special" docent will lead the group through the hallowed halls

(to administer conduct control, provide hall monitoring, and deliver pertinent historic commentary).

No parental notes will be required and all costs are included in the ticket package price.

From the School, we will exit parking in parade formation and caravan to Huddle's (you're on your own for gas from the School to Hud's - no doubt, the biggest expense of the day).

Here, again, The Class of 1967 excels and "Sets the Standard" by which all others are judged as we cruise through town. Gotta love it!

Senior Snap Shot Quiz

Okay boys and girls.... it is quiz time....dbl click to enlarge...here we go....

Bottom right....Who is that streak of lightening escaping the hands of two Fort Bragg Timberwolves? ....and went on to score a touchdown on that very play....Would someone like to venture a guess?...ok, now if you are really good, you can name the two Fort Bragg players, too....and, if you can identify the person on the side line, in the background of this same photo, you will get a front row parking spot at Huddles on August 31!!

Next...proceeding clockwise to the bottom left photo...who is that senior in the vest sweater? (...lives in the bay area and just retired from Safeway Stores)....Who are the two girls in our class pointing at each other? (....first name initials form ED). Judging by the shadows, what time of day was this photo taken? Can you name the make and year of the two autos?....It's a guy, thing....Ok, another front row parking spot if you can find all 13 students in this photo....including limbs.

Left center....the Senior Play....who might this be? Could one of them be “The Brat”? Could the other actor, now be a teacher herself, living in Northern Cal? Who directed the Senior Play? Who was the student Director?

Top left...this classmate, by the way he carries the tea and cups, appears to be athletic....like he can run...fast...away from the other team, if needed....smiling from the corner is the housekeeper....who finds teachers....to be very nice people.

Top center...folks, it's only fire....not much to discover, here. Maybe the beginning of the Homecoming bonfire?....

Top right....Now that's the pose of a man going somewhere....and if you want to know where he has been for the past 40 years....come to the reunion and ask him in person!

Right center....We know this much, the dude with glasses is soon leaving for a little R & R to Ireland with his fine wife....sure hope they get back in time for the big bash!....the other dude is just hoping that the homework he just copied will not cost him too much....
