When lumber was King in Willits...


Hello everyone,
Hope this finds all well! The attached Class Planning Group Meeting Minutes have information about the Scholarship Program, Class Time Capsule, AND, AND, AND .....a Schedule of Activities for the Homecoming and 60th Birthdays get-together. It looks like Homecoming weekend will be October 16th. That means we are only ten weeks away from enjoying each others' company again. I had a super time at the reunion and am looking forward to Homecoming this year. When you see "Float" in the schedule, don't panic. We are going to use Runyan's trailer and have some fun. Class of '67 Scholarship Program – Snider-Herrick (EC)/ Formslag / Marlett / Runyan; Formslag, feedback report re storing of Class funds with the Rotary Club, Formslag was unavailable to report, item moved to August 18, 2009 Meeting – Conference; Buletti-Wharton (through Tufts) introduced consideration to follow the three 2009 Program Award recipients through their educational careers and to provide them with financial support; Group, discussion/majority decision to follow traditional scholarship program methods of selecting awardees from yearly graduates, decision to move further decision/direction discussion forward until such time as discussion of Program Award methodology for 2010 takes place


Class “Where's Waldo” Project – Formslag (C)/Leishman/Runyan; Formslag, update report, Formslag was unavailable to report, item moved forward to August 18, 2009 Meeting – Conference

Homecoming '09 and Class 60th Birthdays Party and 31st Anniversary of Our 29th Birthdays – Olenik/Tufts (co-C)/all members; Tufts, presented a schedule of proposed Event Planning Time Blocks; Group discussion to utilize Schedule of Time Blocks as presented; Group discussion of potential Event activities and scheduling of Event activities:

6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, stage “Float” and discuss/prepare for “Float” riding; meet at field grandstands
7:00 PM, varsity football game; grandstands
Half Time, “ride float”, football field
Post Game, Class picture, football field under the Goal Posts

Class Time Capsule Project – Runyan (PM)/Formslag/Marlett/Tufts; Runyan, presented draft Project control Time Line and Milestones Plan; Group discussion/decision to accept Draft/direction to Runyan to develop final-form document and return to Group at earliest Meeting – Conference possible; Runyan, presentation and recommendation of sample double-wall stainless steel “capsule” vessel; Group, discussion / direction to Runyan to e-mail photos and return with detail information to the Group

BLOG Manger's Report – Olenik (BM); was unavailable to report

Treasurer's Report – Runyan (T); update Report, There have been no transactions this reporting period, all funds are deposited, balance remains $404; Group, discussion/decision to accept the Treasurer's Report, direction to the Treasurer to continue to control Class funds in the manner with which he has been proceeding

New Business: No New Business was requested to be agendized for this Meeting – Conference

“For the Good of the Class” - Marlett, reported he is reestablishing his e-mail and Skype contacts info and requests test communications from all Classmates; Reed, reported having spoken with a friend of his son. The son's friend reported the loss of contact with classmates after ten years.This report reinforced Reed is most pleased with our reunion after 41 years and is pleased with continuing communications and contact with Classmates, Reed commented Class activities and communication provide an opportunity to stay with friendships; Snider-Herrick challenges all Classmates to contribute (as she did- Tufts) to the Class Scholarship Fund
Meeting Schedule -Group, confirmed next Meeting will be the regular 3rd Tuesday
Class Planning Group Meeting – Conference on August 18th, 2009 to begin at 8:30 PM, Runyan will host Skype
